Tomorrow evening (20th January) I shall be presenting a petition to Christchurch Borough Council (CBC) on behalf of the residents of Burton regarding the poor level of publicity afforded to the residents of Burton prior to the briefing by Dorset County Council on the 20th November last about the proposal to extract gravel and sand from land adjacent to the village.

The purpose of the petition is:

to notify CBC the strength of feeling being expressed by the residents of the village with a request that we should be fully consulted in all future discussions concerning the proposal

to strengthen the hand of CBC in its dealings with Dorset County Council (DCC)to ensure that future consultations by DCC are full, clear and comprehensive, properly advertised and undertaken in a timely manner.
