What's it all about?

Dorset County Council and Hampshire County Council have published their lists of preferred sites for gravel extraction. Roeshot Hill is on these lists.

This website is intended to assist concerned people in making clear decisions and in making their voices heard.

The proposals are for a large aggregates extraction site which would be active for 15 years. This site straddles the Dorset/Hants border and would stretch from Salisbury Road across to the A35.

This site could have profound implications for the quality of life in the area.

Please note that some of Dorset County Council's diagrams of the proposed site are somewhat misleading as they only show the extent of the proposed quarry in Dorset.This will cross the border into Hampshire as well.

Information Files to download below;

AS13 Roeshot shows the extent of the Dorset side of the potential quarry.
(Hants side coming soon!)

Response Form is DCC official form to comment on the proposals.
Frankly I found it easier to simply email them.
